Testimonials

Social Bridges® has meant the world to my son and our family! We have participated non stop for the past four years. It is “the one” therapy my son really, really looks forward to attending. Social Bridges® has given him a safe place to make friends, learn pertinent social skills, and interact among peers in a non threatening setting. Some of his best friends are those that we have met in our “Friendship Group”! As a bonus, I have met some very dear friends as a mommy. It is a wonderful support to our daily life!! Social Bridges® has been an integral part of our treatment protocol!! I wish everyone could an opportunity to participate!!

Social Bridges® has brought such a positive outlook to our family. From common courtesies, proper control of frustrations and those behaviors expected in social situations, our children are much more aware of what good behavior looks like. We feel most members of society would benefit from a program like this. It is a win win for all.

From the moment we started with Social Bridges® in 2007, we have felt GREAT support and obtained a wealth of information for our child now 16yrs old and for our family.

We have clearly seen our child grow and improve in his social interactions. From the rough years in middle school to his now second year in high school. Challenges that we thought would come have disappeared.

Also starting the teenager years with our son had us scared. Thankfully, with the support we got with Social Bridges® we were able to clearly make better distinctions on normal teenager behavior and his disability disorder. This was invaluable!! We now look into these years happily and with hope of better things to come.

Students with learning disabilities often require additional support in navigating the social skills in the school environment. Our students have been extremely successful in school because of their participation in the Social Bridges® curriculum. Our teachers are well prepared to offer support to our students, and the students have become great self advocates in dealing with typical school stressors. Parents report that their children are able to transfer the skills to after school activities. Administration has observed a significant reduction in discipline referrals. Carol Miller and her team of highly skills counselors have enabled our students to learn how to be respectful, learn to adjust to the differences in each learner in our school community, to self monitor their own actions and feelings, and become confident in problem solving so that all students may feel comfortable in the learning environment.

I can’t imagine that our students would have come this far in their social learning abilities without this wonderful school wide program! It has truly made a difference for our students.

Social Bridges® has changed my life in more ways than I can name. Before Social Bridges®, I would remain quiet and never speak to anyone. It taught me that it's okay to open up to others, and it has truly made me the person I am today. Now as confident teen, I realize my “calling” and aspire to eventually get my PhD in Psychology to help others.

The thorough nature of Social Bridges® recommendations and communication with school and other professionals is what makes Social Bridges® so uniquely valuable to parents of children struggling with social skills problems. Bridging the gap from therapy to daily life is critical, and it can't be done without collaboration.

Dr Terri Daly,

Director CARD  - Center for Autism and Related Disabilities

My son is 24 with high functioning autism. When he was 22 he aged out of his job training program. While he graduated with excellent job skills, he still did not have the ability to do many things that neuro-typical young adults take for granted. For example, knowing what to talk about during lunch at work, or, even more important, what not to talk about. He didn't know how to make phone calls for professional services or make a social date. Most skill building services are for school aged people or for lower functioning adults. After two years in his Social Bridges® program, Rob can make his own doctor appointments. He makes his own social schedule and calls his friends. He is socially appropriate at work and has a good relationship with his coworkers. Because of Social Bridges®, he is enjoying a more enriched and full social life. We are so grateful to the Social Bridges® program for his progress!

My son had a wonderful freshman year and was selected for the leadership team next year.  He is traveling extensively this summer and also working as a camp counselor.  We can't thank you enough for all of your help.  We constantly use all of the skills from Social Bridges®.

Mother of a teenager diagnosed with Aspergers, anxiety disorder and sensory issues

I must say that I am very pleased with the professionalism, behavioral strategies, communications and overall implementation of the program thus far.  It is very organized and the notes will be extremely helpful because I know as parents we need to reinforce what is being taught and really need the tools to do so.

Danielle, mother of a 3rd grade son diagnosed with ADHD

I just read the report from the last session... I am so pleased that he is doing well.  I see a noticeable difference in home and at school.  I really think Social Bridges® is doing wonderful things for my son and I appreciate all of the time, patience and help you have given my child!  We met a new gentleman recently, and my son immediately walked up to the man, looked him in the eye and shook his hand.  I was very impressed!  Thank you for all that you do!

Robin, stepmother of a 7 year old boy diagnosed with Aspergers

Social Bridges® has given my child a sense of awareness. She is more in tuned to how others respond to her behavior. She's learned to blend in.

Thank you so much!  Your support as a vendor and your presentation were a major reason why our event was such a success.  On behalf of the Learning Disabilities Association of Florida- thank you!

Learning Disabilities Association of Florida

Thank you and Social Bridges staff for providing my son and others with a much needed service.  I truly appreciate the updates.  They show me that the program is well organized and facilitated with clear objectives and goals as well as a general emphasis on having fun.

Sarah, Mother of Adult Program Participant

I just wanted to let you know that there are spontaneously three other children, willingly, at our house. This has never happened before. I think the social coaching is working. Hallelujah.
