Meet the Staff
Carol T. Miller, LCSW
Director and Cofounder
Carol T. Miller is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#SW7648) holding a
Master's Degree in Social Work, and a Bachelor's Degree in Education/Drama
Ms. Miller has worked with children for over 25 years in a variety of therapeutic
settings. She has practiced drama therapy in psychiatric hospitals, conducted therapy groups in schools, served as a therapist and administrator at a community mental health center, and has been the director of a parenting center in Central Florida.
In addition to developing the curriculum for Social Bridges®, administering the program and facilitating groups, Ms. Miller provides individual and family social coaching and counseling and trains professionals to utilize the Social Bridges Toolbox Curriculum. Ms. Miller also serves as an Adjunct Professor with the University of Central Florida.
Dr. Judith Levin
Through Solutions for Children and Families, LLC, Dr. Levin developed the
curriculum for Social Bridges® in conjunction with Carol Miller. In the past, Dr.
Levin facilitated social skill groups and presented seminars to parents and teachers.
Dr. Levin is now the program head for Early Childhood Education at the University of
Central Florida's College of Education. She serves as a consultant for Social Bridges® as needed.
Amy Maretti, BA
Amy Maretti holds a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education with a
certification in Exceptional Education K-12. Mrs. Maretti has taught children
of varying abilities in the public school setting. Mrs. Maretti now serves as the
Administrator for Social Bridges®, is the supervisor to elementary facilitators, and assists
in training new staff, schools, and parents new to the program. Mrs. Maretti has been a facilitator for Social Bridges® since 2014.
Pamela Bellet, LMHC
Ms. Bellet received her Master's degree in counseling from Rollins College and
is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (MH7680). She has over 15 years of
experience working with children with learning disabilities and autism in school
settings and private agencies. Ms. Bellet incorporates a variety of modalities in her
work including drama and mindfulness relaxation techniques. In addition to facilitating groups, Pam also provides social coaching and counseling for families at Social Bridges®.
Danielle Bentz holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of
Illinois and a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Adler University in
Chicago. She has worked as a Child and Family Therapist and has experience in the
diagnosis and treatment of behavioral and emotional disorders. Her clinical focus has
been the treatment of trauma within the child and adolescent population. Ms. Bentz is in the process of becoming a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida.
Danielle Bentz, MA
Melissa Boeing, MA, NCC Mental Health Counselor Intern
Melissa Boeing holds a Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from
Rollins College with a certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is a Nationally
Certified Counselor (NCC) and is currently a registered intern working towards licensure to
become a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Mrs. Boeing has a passion for working with children and adolescents and has experience working with this population in a variety of different settings. Mrs. Boeing is currently working as a Senior Children’s Services Counselor at Orange County Family Counseling and she is thrilled to have this opportunity to work with Social Bridges®!
Emily Foote, LCSW
Emily received her Master’s degree from Boston College Graduate School of
Social Work. She has spent over 20 years working with children preschool aged
through early adolescence and their families in a variety of settings. Emily also
provides social coaching and counseling for families at Social Bridges®. Emily has been
a Social Bridges® facilitator since 2006.
Shannon Hickey, BS
Shannon Hickey is a certified teacher in Early Childhood Education and
Exceptional Student Education. Ms. Hickey graduated from the University of Central
Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Development in
2012. She has experience teaching in an inclusion multi-age Kindergarten and First
Grade classroom for six years. Ms. Hickey has worked with the general education population, children with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and a variety of other special needs. Ms. Hickey has been with Social Bridges® since 2012.
Joaquin Martinez Jr., LCSW, MBA
Joaquin is a marriage and couples counselors in Orlando with a License in
Clinical Social Work.
He holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Central Florida,
Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Florida, and a
Bachelor's Degree from the University of Florida.
Joaquin has worked with teens and families for over 6 years, currently working in private practice with couples and marriages. Joaquin has worked with Social Bridges® since 2015.
Hailey Miller, BS
Hailey Miller earned her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Development
and Education from the University of Central Florida. Ms. Miller worked at Social
Bridges as an intern last spring with all age groups. Professionally, she has worked
with children of varying ages in the private school setting; teaching as a preschool
teacher for 2 years, and is now an elementary school teacher for Kindergarten through 5th grade. Ms. Miller is very excited to formally join the Social Bridges Team.
Rachel Slavkin, M.Ed.
Rachel Slavkin brings to Social Bridges® her passion for helping individuals
with special needs. Rachel earned her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Special
Education from Penn State University and has been working in the field for over 25
years. Rachel has taught special education in the K-12 system and was Special
Education Department Chair of a public school district in Pennsylvania before moving to Central Florida. Rachel now serves on the faculty of Seminole State College in the Adult Education department and is the Director of Employment and Education of RAISE (Recognizing Abilities and Inclusion of Special Employees), a work and social skills training program for adults with disabilities. As a facilitator for Social Bridges® since 2007, Rachel leads social skills therapy groups for adolescents, teens, and adults with social challenges.
Amy Weston, LMHC
Amy Weston is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (MH3812). She received
her Master of Arts from Rollins College in 1992. She has extensive experience
working with individuals dealing with major psychiatric disorders in a community
mental health setting.
Currently, she provides job coaching services through RAISE and area businesses. She works with individuals with Down Syndrome and those coping with mental health issues. She is an independent consultant for the Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida and Families Exploring Down Syndrome of Brevard. She facilitates training classes based on curriculum she has developed, targeting social skills and employability training, for teens and adults with Down Syndrome.
Additionally, Amy provides tutoring services for adults with Down Syndrome, with a concentration on reading and math. Amy also provides social coaching and counseling for families at Social Bridges®.
Danielle Glover received her Master's Degree at the University of Central
Florida and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#SW16695).
Danielle has several years of experience working with children and
adolescents in the hospital, school and outpatient settings. She has provided individual
and group counseling as a contract therapist and facilitates social emotional learning groups as a counselor at a private elementary school. Her clinical focus is directed towards mood disorders, twice exceptional children, and life transitions. Ms. Glover joined the Social Bridges team in January 2020!
Dungeons and Dragons Gamemaster
Noam Kleinman is a senior at the University of Georgia and is studying Economics
before he hopes to move on to law school. He spent his high school working as a
part-time religious school teacher at his local synagogue as well as working with
high school and middle school youth groups. He is excited to host virtual Dungeons &
Dragons with Social Bridges as he has played for four years now and has led 4 different campaigns accumulating over 700 hours of experience. When he's not studying or playing D&D, Noam is often playing board games with his younger sisters or hanging out with his friends.
Vicki Summers, M.S.
Ms. Summers received her Master's degree in Exceptional Education/Sign
Language interpreting from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. She also holds
a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin Madison in Theater
and Drama Education. She has over 30 years of experience working with children and
adults in the field of disabilities. Her most recent job of 12 years was drama instructor and stage director at Riverview School, a private boarding school for children and young adults with complex learning challenges, including students on the Autism spectrum. Ms. Summers incorporates drama activities, mindfulness, and role-play into her teacher which she has found to be effective and fun ways to teach social skills.
Rachel Otero is a Senior at the University of Central Florida and is studying
Early Childhood Development. She has both worked and volunteered in preschool
classrooms and has been involved with the high school youth program at her church.
In her free time Rachel enjoys going to Disney, watching MARVEL movies, and spending
time at the beach. She is so excited to have the chance to complete her practicum at Social Bridges this summer, and is looking forward to her graduation from UCF in August.
Ryan Latterell has just graduated from Trinity Preparatory School and will be
attending the UCF Burnett Honors College in the fall for engineering and
photography. Ryan has been with Social Bridges for over a year now and has been
the webmaster and photography guru. In addition to running the site, Ryan has led the
technical aspects of our Summer Stock Theater and led smartphone photography classes. When not at Social Bridges, Ryan can be found socializing with his friends or reading up on the latest tech and cars, that is, if he isn't photographing anything.
